The ideal candidate will have an educational background in traffic engineering principals, methodologies and transportation design with experience in traffic signal design, intersection design, road safety improvements and traffic analysis using software such as Synchro, HCS and VISSIM. Experience with NJDOT, Port Authority, NJTA and local county and municipal agencies is also desired. The Senior Traffic Engineer must be capable of taking projects from conception through construction, with a solid background in traffic engineering and operations, traffic data collection and analysis, safety and traffic impact studies, and traffic signal design for roadway and bridge reconstruction projects.   Demonstrated familiarity with complete streets, multi-modal bicycle/pedestrian facilities, transit, parking and downtown circulation plans is also desirable. The candidate must be organized, able to work in a group environment, and enjoy working with NV5’s multi-disciplined staff on a variety of exciting projects.
