We are seeking a Resource Manager to lead workforce planning and resource allocation efforts across a portfolio of projects. The ideal candidate brings a mix of operational leadership, data-driven decision making, and people management skills to ensure that the right talent is aligned with the right projects at the right time.

 

As a Resource Manager, you will work closely with project managers, team leads, and business leaders to monitor current and forecasted capacity, coordinate cross-functional staffing, and proactively identify resource conflicts or gaps. Your efforts will directly impact project delivery, employee utilization, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with project managers and discipline leads to forecast resource needs across current and upcoming projects.
  • Manage and maintain a centralized resource plan using workforce management tools or project tracking systems.
  • Track staff availability, workload, PTO, and utilization rates, adjusting allocations to meet business priorities.
  • Facilitate regular resourcing meetings and drive transparent, collaborative decision-making around staffing.
  • Identify resourcing conflicts, skill mismatches, or upcoming shortfalls and recommend solutions.
  • Develop staffing models and reports to support business planning, hiring decisions, and proposal development.
  • Coordinate onboarding and deployment of new hires, including freelancers and contractors.
  • Support career development planning by matching resources to stretch assignments and growth opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvements to resourcing processes, templates, and tools.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in resourcing systems, tracking tools, and team communications.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in resource management, project coordination, or operations within a consulting, engineering, tech, or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and resourcing workflows.
  • Proficiency with workforce planning, project management, or resource tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com, Mavenlink, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, PMI, etc.).
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed or hybrid/remote teams.
  • Understanding of billability/utilization metrics in professional services environments.
