Overview

NV5 is seeking a Solutions Engineer with proven expertise in Cityworks AMS and PLL, as well as emerging Trimble Unity technologies. This role focuses on implementing, configuring, and supporting GIS-centric asset management and permitting solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience across the full solution lifecycle—from deployment and documentation to training and ongoing technical support.

 

Work Environment:

  • Location is flexible, US Remote
  • Travel up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Solution Implementation & Configuration

  • Configure and deploy Cityworks and Trimble Unity applications
  • Support system administration, data migration (ETL), and integration with enterprise GIS (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online)
  • Recommend improvements based on system assessments and user feedback

Technical Support & Analysis

  • Troubleshoot solution issues and support users throughout implementation
  • Execute test plans and ensure quality
  • Develop user guides, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with project managers, developers, and clients to ensure successful solution delivery
  • Present technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Lead training sessions for administrators and end users

Qualifications

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of the Cityworks database and configuration methods
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years in GIS/IT solution delivery and enterprise integration
  • 2+ years of directly supporting or implementing Cityworks solutions
  • Familiarity with Esri's ArcGIS platform and geodatabase concepts

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Crystal Reports, Active Reports, Power BI, or SSRS
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL, HTML)
  • Background in data migration, ETL workflows, or system integration
  • Understanding of business process analysis and optimization
