NV5’s Owner’s Rep Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager/Site Representative to be onsite and provide oversight for an exciting new project in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. This individual will be responsible for monitoring construction progress, quality, and safety while maintaining strict adherence to project timelines.  The ideal candidate is seeking an early career position and may have 2-3 years of on-site project management experience with a background in civil engineering.

 

This role will be onsite in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for monitoring all activities associated with assigned projects.
  • Review and evaluate contractor work to assess quality, completeness, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and project managers, to address issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Capable of reading and reviewing plans and specifications.
  • Prepare and develop routine reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of site inspections, observations, and discrepancies.
  • Work with PM to resolve issues between general contractor and owner's vendors as needed.
  • Document job progress as instructed by Project Manager.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned.

Qualifications

  • Background in construction management.
  • A qualified candidate for this role will have a relevant degree (preferably Construction Management) or 2-3 years of project or construction management experience.
  • Any marina construction experience (i.e. wet slips, dry docks, etc.) considered a definite plus but not mandatory. 
  • Must be able to travel to project sites both in and out of state, as needed or required. May require overnight travel on occasion.  
  • Experience with MS Office, Bluebeam, scheduling software, and budget management software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with standards and best practices in construction management.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
