Responsibilities

The Geophysical/Geomatics Specialist will apply their knowledge of the geophysical, geologic, or geomatics domains to improve and GEOINT repositories, databases, and services. Responsibilities vary with position, but may include interpreting, and evaluating various types and formats of GEOINT, geophysical, and geomatics data; applying scripting or programming capabilities to support and modernize databases and applications; or the design, development, and delivery of databases, websites, tools, and products that are geospatially-enabled to support a multitude of GEOINT, geophysical, geologic, or geomatics issues.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Mathematics, or Computer Science, or a related field

  • 0-12 years of experience supporting the geophysical or geomatics domains, including data acquisition, processing, interpretation, or modeling

  • Proficiency in GIS software including ArcGIS, ArcPro, ArcSDE, or QGIS

  • Experience with geospatial data management and storage using PostGreSQL and PostGIS

  • Understanding or familiarity with MapInfo, MapBasic, Surfer, or GeoSoft

  • Proficiency with scripting in languages like Python or JavaScript

  • Data Analysis capabilities in platforms such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Tableau

  • Experience with Application Programming Interfaces is a plus

Security Clearance Requirements: 

  • Current TS/SCI with ability to obtain and maintain a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph

Competencies & Skills:

  • Ability to apply structured processes to enrich or manage data

  • Ability to apply GEOINT standards and quality

  • Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of data exploitation techniques

  • Comfortable working with a team to achieve project completion

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite
