Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a Senior Utility Coordinator to strengthen our growing Transportation team in Orlando, FL. The Senior Utility Coordinator will be responsible to lead Utility Coordination effort for FDOT and FL local municipalities on transportation projects.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Performs plans reading and acts as liaison between designers, utility agencies and owner on behalf of clients.
  • Conducts utility coordination meetings, documents meeting minutes and maintains files of all activities for each utility agency.
  • Performs follow-up of meeting action items to assure effective coordination results.
  • Communicates verbally and formally the status of coordination activities so as to keep project team members, both internal to company and external informed regarding utilities
  • Perform research and statistical analysis.
  • Administer and attend project meetings, field visits and field investigations as needed.
  • Meet with utility companies on a regular basis on projects and maintain good working relationships with representatives for each company, lending to the timely development of schedules for utility relocations.
  • Assist with the creation, evolving development, and execution of utility agreements between utility owners, agencies, and project owners.
  • Develop and present reports, presentations, and graphic analyses to support all phases of Utility Coordination Services.
  • Develop, negotiate, and maintain Utility Coordination’s budgets on all active projects.
  • Maintain complete and organized records of emails, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, transmittals, and important project files necessary to substantiate approach to final dispositions.
  • Follows company safety policy and practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety prevention, reporting, and monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in the utility industry
  • In-depth understanding of utilities, roadway and infrastructure projects, FDOT & Various Municipalities across the State.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and utility company personnel.
  • Excellent at being organized and possess the ability to prioritize important tasks during times when workload is increased.
  • Normal office environment with occasional field site visits for progress review and quality control or estimating new work.
