Responsibilities

NV5 is seeking a full-time SUE Manager for our Orlando, FL office.  The SUE Manager will oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a presence as the primary point of contact for the client project manager. Works with team to secure, manage, and deliver projects from new and existing clients. Candidates are expected to demonstrate leadership experience, understanding of engineering concepts applicable to the job area, and client fields. Experience in their field, as well as experience with business management are desired. The role includes leading teams to ensure project needs are met specifically, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, while providing exceptional customer service. Another key responsibility is business development.

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating operations, including technicians, field operations, utility personnel, survey personnel and others when needed.
  • Conducts research for projects, such as plats, tax maps, last deed of records, government survey notes, township plats, etc. Along with Sunshine 811 Tickets.
  • Personnel management, proposal generation, and business development.
  • Manage master contracts including fee estimation, project set-up, and execution of work.
  • Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with scope and timely completion.
  • Prepare client invoices, deliverables, and project-related correspondence.
  • Responsible for accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Professionally review, sign and seal deliverables supporting the Geomatics group.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 8 years in the Subsurface Utility Engineering profession.
  • Professional Surveyor and Mapper or LSIT preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with FDOT SUE process.
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
  • Successful history of project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of designation and location equipment.
  • Knowledge of CADD systems; including MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
