Responsibilities

  • Supporting site assessments/remediation, hydrogeology, and environmental risk management studies and services in both the field and office
  • Supporting engineering remediation system design including vapor intrusion mitigation systems (VIMS) and other soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation systems
  • Conducting environmental due diligence and environmental site assessments for real estate property transactions
  • Preparing accurate and high-quality technical reports, correspondence, proposals, and cost estimates
  • Collecting environmental data in simple to complex field situations with limited supervision
  • Reviewing and evaluating complex data and integrate data evaluations into reports
  • Contacting vendors and researching literature and regulatory requirements
  • Organizing and conducting field work independently or as part of a team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university in geology, engineering, or related scientific field
  • 0 to 4 years of consulting experience in Oregon and/or Washington
  • Operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and OSHA 8-hour Supervisor Training preferred but not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals
  • Excellent writing and technical analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively work on project teams
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must have insured transportation for site visits and meetings.
  • Some overnight travel required both in and out of state.
  • Must be available to work outside of normal working hours, if necessary.

 

The pay range for this Washington position is $50,000- $65,000 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. HOURLY ROLE: 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time hourly employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. SALARY ROLE: Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
