Responsibilities

  • Review of applications and submitted plans for various building permits, which may include: swimming pools, room additions, walls and fences, demolished properties, new developments, and/or other related structures.
  • Review and support of environmental, general, community, and urban plans;
  • Review of grading and improvement plans or other land use development projects
  • Review and write environmental documents;
  • Prepare and coordinate processing of local, state, and federal permits;
  • Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and reports;
  • Research, review, and prepare ordinances and policies;
  • Implementation of historic resource regulations;
  • Perform Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping; provide support for complex projects; perform site inspections; review and enforce plans and specifications; perform quality control, coordinate various departments and agencies; monitor mitigation requirements for environmentally sensitive projects; perform proper documentation and reporting; and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and one year of full-time professional-level planning experience in at least ONE of the following areas:

  • Environmental review or analysis
  • Landscape planning or landscape architecture
  • Environmental, general, and community planning
  • Zoning administration and enforcement
  • Architecture and urban design
  • Site planning
  • Discretionary permit review and processing

EXPERIENCE: The successful applicant will demonstrate familiarity with the following:

  • Municipal planning principals;
  • CEQA principals;
  • Site planning and architectural design principles;
  • Principles and practices of urban planning and development;
  • Planning terminology, methods, materials, practices, and techniques

 

The pay range for this California position is $33.65- $33.46 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
