This position is for a Professional Land Surveyor that supervises teams of technical staff, provides professional review of work products; helps manage office and field workload under the direction of the Director of Survey Operations, and supports the Survey Department by maintaining projects on schedule and budget.

The person in this position provides all types of survey research, computations, review of computer-aided survey drafting of topographic maps and plats, written descriptions of land for deeds, leases, and other legal documents in accordance with local, state, federal and project requirements. Reviews projects, performs quality assurance, reports progress through completion on each project assigned by the Director of Survey. Assists in scheduling field crews and oversight of field procedures and survey vehicles and equipment.

This role also performs business development and prepares proposals and client presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise various survey tasks and projects mostly for the transportation/infrastructure arena, such as Right of Way Mapping, Design Survey, Subsurface Utility Engineering, etc.
  • Reviews and evaluates operating procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency in operations and that desired objectives are met.
  • Performs QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with state and client policies, procedures and professional standards.
  • Coordinate with other NV5 disciplines to grow, expand, and market the survey team.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for office and field staff.
  • Develops project plans, timelines, deliverables, milestones, and status updates.

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • 10 years managing large land survey projects. Preference for candidates with experience in Right of Way Mapping projects in Washington.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Must have current Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Washington.

The pay range for this Washington position is $90,000.00- $120,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
