Overview

We are seeking a NEPA Specialist/Environmental Planner for our Albuquerque office. Our ideal candidate will be extremely well-versed in federal and state environmental compliance regulations and be comfortable working both independently and on a team of other senior staff that head Cultural Resources, GIS, and Natural Resources. Successful candidates will be comfortable handling full technical and fiscal responsibility of environmental compliance and natural resources projects. Some flexibility with

Responsibilities

Responsibilities/Qualifications
• Prepare NEPA, CEQA, and SEPA documents, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI), Records of Decisions (ROD), Environmental Assessments (EA), Biological Assessments (BA), Biological Evaluations (BE), Plans of Development/Operation, Monitoring Plans and Reports, Jurisdictional Determinations, ESA Compliance, and various other environmental documents.
• Oversee all aspects of project initiation, budgeting, fieldwork, reporting, and permitting.
• Act as a liaison to facilitate relationships between private clients and government agencies.
• Conducting internal and public scoping processes.
• Organizing, running, and taking part in client meetings, public scoping meetings, and hearings. Summarizing and responding to public comments.
• Navigate the complex regulatory compliance processes of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and other federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Preparing detailed technical reports, chapters, and documents.
• Interpreting data.
• Helping to develop project bids and budgets.
• Ensuring project quality while keeping with schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning/Science, Environmental Policy/Sustainability, Natural Resources Planning, Biology, Forestry, or related field.
• Five years of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) planning and environmental regulatory compliance professional experience.
