NV5 Orlando is looking for a Construction Materials Testing Project Manager to manage construction materials testing projects and personnel. The person must possess skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and must be steadfast in the execution of assigned duties. A registered Civil Engineer in the State of Florida is preferred. The person needs to be an effective leader and collaborator with an ability to manage soil/concrete technicians and inspectors, and coordinate with NV5 Orlando laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Project Manager for CMT projects.
  • Direct, review and monitor work performed by the materials testing and inspection personnel.
  • Review field and laboratory reports.
  • Review plans and specifications.
  • Prepare and/or review materials testing proposals.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from inception through completion and have primary responsibility for managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets expectations. Manage projects to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of staff.
  • Certifications: Assure that all accreditations and certifications of the laboratory and staff are maintained and up to date.
  • Maintaining client relationships and creating new project opportunities.

Qualifications

 

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with construction materials testing.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi discipline team, think creatively and problem solve.
  • Demonstrated experience with reviewing technical specifications and field/laboratory reports.
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
  • Experience reviewing concrete/asphalt mix designs.
  • Experience overseeing materials testing and inspections.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida (preferred)
