Responsibilities

 

NV5 is currently seeking a full-time Resident Engineer with experience in infrastructure and microtunneling construction projects. Candidate must have microtunneling experience, a minimum of 5ft diameter using any MicroTunnel Boring Machine (MTBM), in last 10 years. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the construction inspection team and overseeing the construction projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements. This includes ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and standards, tracking project progress, supervising construction activities, and collaborating with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders. The candidate must be highly experienced, organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills in order to ensure safety compliance during the construction of infrastructure.

 

  • Familiarity with the application of the Geotechnical Baseline Report (BGR) and Risk Registers in micro tunnels and underground construction in general.
  • Design and details of construction aspects of micro tunnels including MTBM capabilities and performance in this kind of ground conditions and navigating through an intermediate shaft.
  • Design and performance of the selected jacking pipes.
  • Design and detailed construction aspects of the types and depths of shafts, deep shaft.
  • Instrumentation and monitoring requirements and actions to be taken in response to monitored conditions for the protection of existing facilities/utilities.
  • Partial demolition and construction over large active sewers with extensive flow maintenance requirements.
  • Experienced in secant piles.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from ABET/EAC accredited program in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in NY
  • Experience on NY construction projects
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the civil engineering/construction industry
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent Decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication abilities

The pay range for this New York position is $187,200 to $228,800 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided in accordance with NY Senate Bill S1326. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
