As a result of continued growth, NV5 Geospatial is seeking a Geospatial Fullstack Developer for its European Solutions Delivery team. Could you be one of the people getting to work on the cutting edge of this exciting industry?

You’ll be working with our team to deliver automated cloud-based monitoring solutions based on our industry-leading image analysis software ecosystem, ENVI. Customers range from big to small, from blue chip to startup, from domain experts to end-users. We help them get the answers they need from remote sensed data through our enterprise and desktop-based applications.

To succeed you will be a confident fullstack developer with experience in the GIS or geospatial domain. An understanding of image processing would be a bonus. As this is a fast-evolving area, you need to be comfortable assessing and learning new technologies. The role requires interaction with team members across Europe and the US, and occasionally customers, so the ability to communicate professionally is vital. Our ideal candidate will have a scientific background e.g., in Computer Sciences, Geography, Physics, or similar. Some work will be carried out in the defense environment, so the candidate should be willing and eligible to apply for national security clearances.

• Working in an interdisciplinary, international team with geospatial analytics developers and software engineers.
• Developing back-end website applications using node.js and our ENVI software suite
• Designing and deploying servers and databases, both locally and on AWS
• Designing and developing front end web tools for geospatial applications
• Consider both technical and consumer needs
• Staying abreast of new developments in web applications and related programming languages

• Master’s degree in computer or natural sciences, engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software development, ideally using web/cloud technologies such as React, Angular, node.js, processing services, mapping tools (e.g. Google Maps) in the geospatial domain.
• Excellent software development skills with proven proficiency in a mainstream language such as C/C++, Java, Python, IDL, MATLAB.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and domains.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to multitask.
• Eligibility for national security clearances.
• Written and verbal fluency in English.
  

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with NV5 Geospatial or other related products (ENVI, IDL, ArcGIS)
• Experience with image analysis and/or remote sensing techniques
