We have an opportunity for a talented & ambitious Civil/Structural Engineer with Overhead (OH) Transmission Line experience to join us as our new Senior Transmission Line Engineer based out of our growing Phoenix, AZ office. 

 

For years, NV5 has anticipated changes that would impact our clients and has expanded our capabilities to deliver sustainable project solutions. With you as our new Lead Transmission Line Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in establishing relationships that go beyond the realm of the project at hand. As Lead Engineer you will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of transmission line and related civil engineering problems involving overhead power lines and substations.

 

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Act as the responsible engineer and client point of contact for power delivery projects.
  • Increase the volume of overhead line work with existing clients.
  • Assist in marketing and promotion efforts to add new regional clients.
  • Prepare, review, and P.E. seal technical calculation reports and construction documents meeting client and NV5 requirements.
  • Develop your career via peer-learning through sharing of knowledge with other experienced engineers and train and mentor junior staff.
  • Travel to client sites as needed.
  • Mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

We are seeking the following experience:

  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ of progressive experience in the civil-structural engineering field is desired.
  • Overhead (OH) Transmission Line design experience with PLS-CADD is preferred.
  • Other structural design experience (i.e. Bridges, Buildings) encouraged to apply.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration in the state of AZ is desired.
