Overview

NV5 GeoSpatial is a leader in geospatial sciences and analytics. This position sits within our Energy portfolio, which provides geospatial solutions to clients within the electric utility sector.

A Senior Technician supports Analysts to complete processing tasks with moderate oversight within a team-based environment. Executing data production in vector-based software platforms, this position supports senior staff in producing LiDAR-driven deliverables based on client requests. This includes providing technical support, quality assurance/control and training for technicians and contractors. It is expected that Senior Technicians will contribute to manual processing tasks with high attention to detail and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Processing and classification of remote sensing data.
  • Performs rigorous quality control and deliverable creation
  • Ownership of work, and proactive communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight as well as in a team
  • Performs repetitive tasks with great attention to detail and consistency.
  • Maintains processing and production sheets and assures they are updated and accurate.
  • Assists in training of workflow and methods.
  • Identifies process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Assists with data reporting and data archiving.
  • Assists in training production staff using best practices.
  • Role model for best practices within processing realm.
  • Exemplifies operational excellence.
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Established understanding of LiDAR technology and its applications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Drive
  • 6+ months of data-driven technical experience working with spatial data
  • Experience in a professional work environment
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of ESRI or vector-based software and TerraSolid products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of geospatial fundamentals such as coordinate systems and datums.
  • Experience interacting with large data-sets
  • Comfortable working within a 3-D environment.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, etc.
  • Proficient use of Model Builder
  • Raster-based analysis experience
