GIS Team Leader

NV5 Geospatial is actively recruiting a self-motivated individual to lead and supervise a team of skilled professionals who perform GIS data analysis, feature extraction and attribution to a range of specifications for our Federal, State and Regional clients. Responsibilities of this role include managing the production schedule and resources, tracking project production tasks and overseeing data quality. In addition, the Team Leader supports personnel management of the employees within the team, tracking of individual goals and professional growth of supervised staff.

Production Supervision and Oversight:

• Oversees and contributes to the production processes/quality for the team
• Manages, identifies and communicates team resourcing needs
• Tracks and reports team backlog and schedule
• Assists in developing project estimates
• Assists in implementation of and assurance of adherence to best practices and client data standards
• Identifies process improvements and assists to optimize workflow

Project Management:

• Performs/ assists in project archival tasks
• Helps track project progress, milestones and deadlines

Personnel management of Team Members:

• Employee supervision
• Cultivates exceptional talent through coaching and goal setting
• Aids in hiring new team members

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of data management processes and industry standards
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communications and collaboration skills
• Experience with ArcGIS software
• Experience with Microsoft excel and/or Google Sheets
• Experience with client data standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge and experience working in the Esri database or multi-user environment
• Understanding of client specifications
• 3+ years’ experience in a professional environment and technical environment
• 1+ years’ management experience, leading teams or task lead
• U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

• GISP, PMP or equivalent certification
• 3+ years’ management experience or leading teams
• Active DoD security clearance
