The Lead Analyst works to support the Team Leaders and Technical Specialists to ensure data flow and proper tasking within the Orthoimagery team. This individual provides oversight to technicians and other analysts in support of the team leadership. This position will work individually and as part of a team to support Orthoimagery data production; producing finalized data deliverables based on client requests. The Lead Analyst has knowledge of all aspects of the Orthoimagery workflow and performs rigorous QA/QC and assists in training of analysts and technicians. A Lead Analyst produces consistent finished products and works to develop process efficiencies and improve methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight to a team of technicians and analysts
  • Takes ownership of work within the team for execution and QA/QC
  • Create digital elevation models suitable for orthorectification
  • Process aerial imagery
  • Perform aerial triangulation
  • Create orthomosaic products
  • Create deliverable raster products

Technical Focus:

  • Demonstrates good judgment in the selection of the methods and techniques in problem resolution and troubleshooting
  • Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to take complex information and convey it easily
  • Ability to improve data processes
  • Performs rigorous QA/QC and data finalization practices
  • Excellent technical ability with Esri and raster-based processing software
  • Ability to understand and apply Python
  • Produces data reports and final deliverables
  • Ability to automate workflows and tasks
  • Takes initiative to improve processes and efficiencies
  • Strong creative aptitude and ability to contribute to the development of the unique methods
  • Can apply creative ideas in practical application

Operations Focus:

  • Works with the Team Leaders and Directors to:
  • Assist in process and protocol training
  • Assist in execution of internal projects and special initiatives
  • Creation of and implementation of special programs
  • Manage and support the day-to-day operations of the team
  • Assist in process improvement

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of photogrammetry and Aerial Triangulation
  • Working knowledge of aerial imagery processing
  • Working knowledge of the orthomosaic processing
  • Consistently produces precise and accurate work
  • Maintains excellent data management and file organization practices
  • Develop resolution and accuracy statistical analysis
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability across software platforms
  • Shows flexibility when being tasked
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Provides oversight of tasking to ensure benchmarks and priorities are met

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in an orthoimagery production role
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Esri, Global Mapper, Inpho, Image Station, and Ultra Map software
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in remote sensing production workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or higher
  • Knowledge of Python, CADD, and Visual Basic
  • 3+ years’ experience in a technical, professional work environment
