NV5 is seeking a full-time Archaeological Field Director to conduct field work out of our Alpharetta, Georgia or Cary, NC office to support cultural resources management and compliance for a variety of clients in the transportation, energy, land development, and municipal sectors. This position will manage day-to-day archaeological fieldwork at Phase I, II, and III levels of investigation, and assist in the processing of maps and data and cultural materials and other samples produced in the field. The Field Director will be capable of both overseeing archaeological technicians, as well as working alone on small projects. The Field Director will contribute to technical reports of investigations including Management Summaries, Archaeological Resource Identification/Survey, Testing and Mitigation Reports, Assessment of Effects, and Archival Research. The Field Director position will include extensive travel, both local and overnight, primarily in the Southeastern U.S. This individual will assist in developing Scopes of Work and other project planning and is expected to complete resulting project tasks within deadlines and budgets. The Field Director reports to the Project Archaeologist (Project Manager) or Senior Archaeologist (Principal Investigator). One or more positions may be filled through this announcement.
