Portfolio Manager

The Portfolio Manager oversees the Project Management Organization (PMO) for the Portland office, within the geospatial vertical. This role is responsible for concurrent management of projects, as well as providing support and leadership throughout the project lifecycle. The Portfolio Manager coordinates with and leads Project Managers (PMs) to ensure individual projects contribute to the overall portfolio success. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for resource and capacity forecasting as well as developing, implementing, and refining tools and systems to increase standardization and efficiency. 

This position works closely with the Account Management team and the Production teams, as well as with clients, to ensure strategic alignment and prioritize initiatives to maximize impact. 

Project and Portfolio Management:  

• Coordination with acquisition for portfolio planning and execution
• Monitors portfolio KPIs
• Implements PM Best Practices
• Capacity planning/labor forecasting intra-program
• Provides revenue forecasting at Portfolio level
• Creation of methodology standardization
• Client status reporting
• Sub-consulting (relationships, decisions to sub and capacity planning) 

Personnel Management of Project Managers:

• Project Manager hiring
• Performance evaluations
• Professional development
• Team initiative tracking
• Leading best practices and implementing standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience  
• Active pursuit of PMP or other Project Management degree or credential 
• Competency in procurement, negotiation and finance
• Client Relationship Management Experience
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• 4+ years’ experience in project management
• 2+ years’ experience leading a PMO
• Risk Management Experience
• Experience in process development and improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a business, PM, science, or engineering program
• MBA or equivalent education
• 4+ years’ experience in a technical environment
• 3+ years’ experience in project management and leading teams
• Resource Planning
• Experience in change management
