Quantum Spatial, d/b/a NV5 Geospatial (NV5G) is seeking a GIS Analyst to work directly with its federal government client. The successful candidate will provide technical GIS and mapping support and communication and collaboration with various groups throughout the organization. The position will utilize Esri ArcPro and specialized software for data collection and image processing in support of various priority projects related to natural resources.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Greater Sage-grouse Habitat Burned Hub Site and associated dashboards through periodic as needed site and script revisions, bi-weekly fire perimeter QAQC, and general user/application support
  • Support the Integrated Program of Work (IPOW) through periodic updates to the IPOW database as well as regular updates to the IPOW Allocation Summary Story Map
  • Maintain the federal government client’s public Wildfire Risk Assessment Story Map through as needed service and metadata updates and general user/application support
  • Implement data quality control procedures and create reports summarizing quality, issues, and proposed resolution. Prepare data for publishing in multiple formats, such as services or layer packages, internally and externally. Assist with the publication of data and metadata to internal and external data portals for use in the fire and resource programs.
  • Review, create and maintain metadata to federal client specifications for datasets and services
  • Work with data stewards and data administrator to define user requirements and implement projects though deriving data requirements, configuring applications, and creating documentation
  • Support federal client geospatial staff in creation of geospatial databases and manage geodatabases in an enterprise environment including providing support to update and maintain federal client’s fire and natural resources data
  • Acquire data from multiple internal and external sources and formats to integrate into a geospatial dataset including navigating file directory structures, spatial data portals, and websites
  • Develop unique and standardized cartographic products using ArcGIS Desktop. Map content will range between single subject depictions to multiple values on a single map
  • Perform data analysis (geospatial and alpha-numeric) as requested to support the creation of reports and briefing documents related to resource and/or wildland fire program management questions
  • Develop and run automated geoprocessing and/or analysis workflows to support requested projects
  • Create story maps, dashboards, and/or other web applications to illustrate analysis methods and results, and provide federal client staff and the public with dynamic and often realtime access to data and interactive maps

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional experience with Esri’s suite of desktop GIS software primarily focused on ArcGIS Desktop and extensions
  • Professional knowledge in applying geospatial technologies, including geoprocessing to address wildland fire, natural resources, public safety, emergency management, and/or land management business requirements
  • Professional experience performing automation, or scripting workflows with products like ESRI ModelBuilder, Python, or FME
  • Professional experience managing data from multiple sources including commingling to a single data set and editing geometry and attributes. This can include creating, managing, and maintaining geospatial databases (including Esri file and SDE geodatabases)
  • Professional experience with quality assurance plans and quality control procedures integrated with the production and maintenance of geospatial data including manual and automated procedures
  • Professional experience in identifying and documenting reference data sources, integration processes, and domain values
  • Professional experience writing FGDC and/or ISO metadata for vector and/or raster products
  • Professional experience creating and updating unique and/or standardized cartographic products using ArcGIS Desktop
  • Knowledge of publishing web services and building web applications for use by customers. The candidate shall address map, feature, image, and geoprocessing services and considerations for their use.
  • Experience in developing written technical documentation (such as system requirements documentation, user guides, metadata, workflow diagrams, white papers, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in job offered or related

 

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $36.05- $45.67.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
