Overview

NV5 is seeking a proven Industrial Hygienist (IH) to manage and support projects. We are recruiting for an IH for work within a 50-mile radius of Richland, WA. This role requires the ability to support a wide array of NV5 client projects and the successful candidate will have an industry reputation to grow client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with their Health & Safety programs, including responding to enforcement actions.
  • Develop and oversee Health & Safety programs.
  • Help industrial clients meet current and anticipated regulatory requirements.
  • Audit Health & Safety compliance to support senior-level assessments of industrial operations and commercial property.
  • Interface with client Health & Safety staff, provide support to service operations, and review reporting as it relates to compliance.
  • Provide IH support in various topical areas.
  • Provide support for the field implementation of IH monitoring and sampling requirements and maintain a strong field presence in project activities.
  • Participate in critiques, incident investigations, and corrective action management; prepare written industrial hygiene and safety reports, correspondence and communication.
  • Develop and implement effective and efficient methods for controlling and eliminating occupational health hazards.
  • Provide input/interface into the job hazard analysis processes and performs exposure monitoring as required.
  • Provide support to Plan of the Day meetings, communicating IH hazards related to the job.
  • Communicate both area and employee exposure monitoring results to the project and employees.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience performing IH monitoring and sampling.
  • A bachelor’s degree in safety and health or applied science relevant to Industrial Hygiene or Safety.
  • Certification recognized by the Board of Safety Professionals or American Board of Industrial Hygienists (ABIH) is highly desirable. This includes Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), Construction Health and Safety Technologist (CHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), and Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Federal service experience.
  • Professional experience in Health & Safety consulting and/or working in Health & Safety at a facility or plant.
  • Program and project management capabilities.
  • Well-established contacts in the region.

 

The pay range for this Washington position is $45.00- $75.00 per hour; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
