Overview

NV5 is recruiting for a Health Physicist with a passion for the Safety and Health Physics (HP) field to help our clients achieve success in the health and safety of their operations.  This is a potential future opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HP support in various topical areas.
  • Provide support for the field implementation of HP surveys and sampling requirements and maintain a strong field presence in project activities.
  • Participate in critiques, incident investigations, and corrective action management; prepare written reports, correspondence, and communication.
  • Provide support to the company in Safety and HP requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective and efficient methods for controlling and eliminating occupational and radiological health hazards.
  • Provide input/interface into the job hazard analysis processes and performs exposure monitoring as required.
  • Provide support to Plan of the Day meetings, communicating radiological hazards related to the job.
  • Communicate both area and employee exposure monitoring results to the project and employees.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in safety and health, or applied science relevant to Health Physics or Safety desired.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience performing Health Physics work.
  • NRRPT certification desired.
  • Class 7 DOT shipping experience and training desired.
  • MARSSIM experience desired.

The pay range for this Washington position is $25.00 - $65.00 per hour; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
