Project Manager– Remote Sensing and Geospatial Services

NV5 delivers geospatial intelligence and analytics to help utilities deliver safe and reliable electric service (nv5.com/geospatial). The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the oversight and successful completion of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.  The PM will provide solutions to utility and energy clients while working with diverse and potentially remote project teams. The PM oversees all phases of remote sensing projects, and is responsible for project performance through effective management of project constraints, including scope, timeline, and budget.  The PM will report status updates to the PMO and stakeholders on a weekly basis, and conducts a retrospective at the close of the project to demonstrate potential process improvements and clearly outline constraint metrics.  The PM will also collaborate with other PMs at NV5 to maximize efficiencies and skillset utilization.

• Project Management - Conduct or oversee all required tasks for the following project phases, working with all NV5 departments:
• Initiation: Collect initial client requirements, identify assumptions, assess project feasibility, develop objectives, and project charter, engage  stakeholders
• Planning: Create project portfolio, estimate costs and schedule, assist in business development and proposal process, develop PM plan, prepare procurement documents, hold kick off meeting
• Executing: Create project documents, conduct procurement, supervise project work, implement changes, perform quality assurance and audits, manage, and evaluate project and team performance, conduct status meetings, maintain communication with stakeholders
• Monitoring and Controlling: Track project financial performance (estimate-at-complete; cost variance analysis), perform quality control, maintain project information in pertinent database, verify scope, work closely with accounting, perform risk assessments and audits
• Closing: Ensure final delivery of product to the client, seek feedback on the product and process, conduct project retrospective, communicate findings to Executive Team, update the lessons learned and process improvement database

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, science, or engineering program
• 2+ years’ experience as a PM
• Experience in remote sensing, geospatial projects, or comparable technical projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management degree/credential, or active pursuit of a PMP certification
• Professional experience in the electric utility or energy sector.

The pay range for this position is $85,000.00- $95,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 Geospatial may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 9 paid holidays a year.
