NV5 is seeking a full-time National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Analyst for our Albuquerque, NM office. The analyst will assist with planning, environmental, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental projects and work with planners, scientists and cultural resource specialists (including historians and archaeologists), assigned to the New Mexico and Southwest region offices
  • Collect and analyze published environmental data on resources and issues such as geology, soils, vegetation, socioeconomics, land use, visual resources, recreation, and cumulative impacts.
  • Write technical sections of environmental reports on resources and issues such as geology, soils, vegetation, socioeconomics, land use, visual resources, recreation, and cumulative impacts.
  • Prepare NEPA documents including categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements.
  • Evaluate impacts of proposed project alternatives on the environment.
  • Assist with public involvement activities including preparing meeting materials, organizing and facilitating public meetings, and preparing public meeting summaries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental policy, environmental sciences, public administration, geography, or other related field
  • Master’s Degree a plus
  • AICP certification a plus
  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in planning or environmental
  • NEPA experience
  • NMDOT or other agency experience a plus
  • Strong problem solving and planning
