NV5 is seeking a driven and detailed Payroll Manager to join our team in the Hollywood, FL office. The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the payroll team and responsible functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.  The right fit for this position will be a motivated, self-starter that enjoys working in a fast paced, environment where challenges are faced with initiative.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage a team of payroll specialists and provide guidance to ensure all company payrolls are accurate and timely.
  2. Oversees and reviews payroll processing of transactions for 3000+ employees including salaries, garnishments, employee changes, taxes and other deductions.
  3. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processes and procedures.
  4. Resolve pay related issues and provide general support to payroll team on escalated issues.
  5. Responsible for managing collaborative, group projects as well as responsible for individual initiatives.
  6. Responsible for a portion of bi-weekly, multi-state payroll processing in conjunction with the team that includes: exporting time from timekeeping system (Deltek), importing to payroll system (ADP) and validating payroll preview with accuracy and efficiency.
  7. Post payroll audits and reporting
  8. Manage and process cases through an internal ticketing system to assist with and organize payroll processing and issue resolutions to inquiries.
  9. Point of contact for ADP on all payroll tax related issues as well as maintain a tax issue tracking spreadsheet
  10. Manage unemployment claims-payroll doesn’t participate in unemployment hearings
  11. Maintain electronic payroll files including scanning documents to online database.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University with 5 years of multi-state payroll experience and 5 years of payroll management experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  2. Multi-State payroll tax knowledge required
  3. ADP Workforce Now software experience required
  4. Deltek experience a plus
  5. Intermediate proficiency in Excel required
  6. Highly organized with demonstrated accuracy in payroll processing and ability to work in a fast paced, growing environment
  7. Must be able to maintain confidentiality due to access of sensitive information
  8. High degree of professionalism, must respond to requests timely, have excellent follow up skills as well as manage the company and employee expectations accordingly
  9. Must be within commuting distance to the Hollywood, FL office.
