The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, possess the highest level of integrity, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, and be focused on adding value to the company. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of general accounting procedures and experience with risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting department
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements
  • Directs the development and implementation with the management team of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting
  • Perform timely and accurate month end close and monthly report preparation
  • Monitor the company's financial reports
  • Oversee all accounting operational functions
  • Implement corporate process changes
  • Monitor key performance metrics and prepare variance analysis
  • Create an annual budget and track/explain variances
  • Comply with corporate internal audits and controls for financial systems to reduce risk of loss of business assets
  • Track, manage, project cash flow
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis of job costs and profit margins
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports to provide financial reporting and analysis to management personnel

Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of financial law, accounting, and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A bias for teambuilding
  • Great strategic planning, organization, and creative thinking skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
  • Results-oriented strategic thinker and planner
  • Experience with Deltek and/or other accounting systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience
  • Willing to jump in and assist where needed

Qualifications

  • CPA or Masters degree in a finance related field
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a Lead Finance position in a Construction related industry
  • Proven past experience as a Controller, finance officer or relevant role
  • Audit experience
  • Percent Complete Revenue recognition experience in compliance with FASB 606
  • Contract Law, contract review
  • PHMSA D&A Plan Compliance
  • Business Insurance
