Responsibilities

The Engineering Intern will engage in design tasks related to roadway and infrastructure design projects for all clients but primarily the Florida Department of Transportation.  This may include:

  • Roadway design including alignment and profile
  • Signing and pavement marking design
  • Design of primary and secondary drainage systems
  • Maintenance of Traffic design
  • CADD plans production using Bentley OpenRoads Designer and FDOTConnect
  • 3D modeling of roadway projects

Qualifications

  • A Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college
  • Knowledge of CAD  specifically MicroStation/Bentley
  • Knowledge of  3D modeling using OpenRoads Designer a plus
  •  Strong written and oral communication skills

Certifications/Licenses:

  • EIT Preferred

  • Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
