NV5 is seeking a principal investigator to support cultural resources management projects in New Mexico and throughout the southwest.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate projects and logistics; manage contracts and budgets; ensure compliance with municipal, tribal, state, and federal regulations; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams; devise work plans and research designs; oversee and support staff; oversee and conduct fieldwork, analysis, and report development; communicate with clients and regulatory agencies; track and approve purchases; write and review technical documents.
  • Support business development through proposal and budget development and client interaction.

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field
  • Meet Secretary of the Interior standards for archaeology and historic preservation
  • Meet NM state permit and BLM requirements for PI/PD, qualify for other permits, including BIA, USFS, USPS, and Navajo Nation, and maintain continuing education requirements
  • Demonstrate cultural resources management experience in various regions of NM
  • Experience in business development, opportunity tracking, client coordination, and proposal development
  • Functionality with Deltek, Teams, Word programs, data management, GPS
  • Adherence to agency guidelines and project scopes, project schedules, and safety protocols
  • Professional level data collection and output
  • Good communication skills, responsive to assignments
  • Adaptive strategies and flexibility
  • Optional remote work
