At NV5, the Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the company accounts payable process and function in a professional and knowledgeable manner. This position directs and oversees the daily management of the accounts payable department and processes associated with the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, invoices, employee expense reports, intercompany accounts and payment of invoices.


  • Fully responsible for overseeing full cycle Accounts Payable function in a shared service environment, including vendor set up, disbursements, check requests, reimbursement of employee expenses, 1099 reporting and month end close.
  • Manages vendor payment requirements and ensures timely processing of payables
  • Communicate with other departments, business units and vendors regarding process improvement, position on relevant issues and internal control procedures while providing excellent customer service. Proactively communicate to internal customers.
  • Review reconciled purchases made on credit cards and purchasing cards
  • Provide strong leadership to a team of Accounts Payable processors.
  • Ensure that all financial deadlines regarding accounts payable are met for month/quarter/year-end financial closings.
  • Manage team productivity providing guidance while assuring standard operating procedures are being followed.
  • Support requests from internal and external audit functions.
  • Provides effective performance management and coaching of team.
  • Work with the relevant Purchasing teams to drive and manage process improvements in the procure-to-pay process.
  • Preparation and distribution of 1099 and 1042 forms to vendors/suppliers on or prior to the applicable due dates.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent years of experience

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4 + years of experience in the Accounts Payable field
  • 2 + years of experience in Accounting Supervisory role
  • Broad knowledge of payables, purchasing, intercompany, general ledger and 1099 processes and procedures
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and communication experience and experience building relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work well with others in fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Oracle, and web-based tools)

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision a plus
