NV5 (NASDAQ: NVEE) Building Solutions provides analytics and technology driven energy and operational solutions to our global clients. We are looking to expand our talented energy intelligence team that focuses on integrating technology into traditional building engineering and consulting services.


We are currently seeking an Energy Consultant that will report out of the Irvine, CA office. This is a hybrid-remote position allowing for a flexible yet collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the delivery of mechanical systems commissioning and energy audits, have strong engineering and building automation knowledge, and the ability to self-organize and lead projects.

Responsibilities

Duties:

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and other project team members
  • Lead Commissioning (Cx) and Retro-commissioning (RCx) projects inclusive of:
    • Perform construction observations
    • Document development
    • Develop and execute test procedures
    • Review equipment submittals
  • Lead ASHRAE Level 1 and 2 audits inclusive of:
    • Site assessments
    • Utility benchmarking
    • Identifying measures
    • Perform energy calculations
    • Technical report writing
  • Measurement and Verification (M&V)
  • Support with installing and integrating analytics device with site’s BMS
  • Travel 20%

Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:


Required

  • 3+ years of Cx or RCx experience
  • 3+ years of Energy Engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy engineering, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of building automation network architectures


Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience managing projects and team
  • 1+ years of experience with SkySpark analytics software and Axon programming competency
  • 1+ years of experience providing building automation programming
  • Basic understanding of networking, including architecture and security
  • Experience developing constructions scope and sequence of operation pseudocode

 

Certifications/Licenses


Preferred:

  • PE
  • CEM
  • LEED AP
