We are seeking Mid to Senior Level Transmission Line Engineers to support our growing Overhead Transmission & Distribution practice in Phoenix, AZ. This is a mid/senior level position. Your experience in routing, design, and execution of high voltage overhead transmission and distribution design projects (12kV to 500kV) will be crucial to the success of our group and will enable the right candidate to experience strong and fast career growth. You will be involved in all facets of transmission and distribution line routing and design. There may also be opportunities to grow into other aspects of line design projects, including client development and project management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Routing and design of overhead transmission lines utilizing the Power Line Systems software suite including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER
  • Structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria and specifications for the T&D line design and procurement of materials, project cost estimating, and quality control reviews.
  • Will become familiar with industry codes and standards and have experience as the technical lead on projects.
  • Will prepare drawings and documentation for construction of transmission line projects.

Qualifications

  • Education/Qualifications:
    • Engineer applicants: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited program and an active engineering intern (FE) registration.
    • 4+ years of overhead (OH) Transmission Line Design experience
    • Proficiency with PLS-CADD
    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
    • Able to travel 5% of time.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience writing up proposals and/or construction contracts a big plus
  • Certifications/Licenses:
    • PE license in the state of California is a plus
