WHPacific/NV5 is seeking a civil/traffic engineer for the Transportation Engineering Group in our Boise Office. The preferred candidate will have a transportation planning and engineering background with technical skills in traffic analysis and design. The person in this position will provide technical expertise on traffic engineering issues for planning and design of transportation infrastructure.


  • Traffic operations and safety analyses
  • Traffic signal, ITS, and lighting design
  • Signing and striping design
  • Construction/work zone traffic control design
  • Prepare technical reports and construction plans for traffic elements
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and sub-consultants
  • Mentor and train staff to expand technical expertise
  • Implement company policies and procedures for the execution of projects
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Knowledge of industry standard traffic engineering techniques, reference materials, and design criteria
  • Knowledge of ITD, ACHD and other Idaho public agency design methods and procedures
  • Experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/Sim Traffic, Sidra, Vissim and/or similar traffic analysis tools
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, Microstation or similar CAD design tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to an assigned work plan and manage time to complete tasks on schedule and budget


Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering.
  • 4-10 years of experience.


  • Idaho Engineer Intern certification is required.
  • Idaho Professional Engineer registration is required within 1 year of employment.
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification is desired.
  • Valid Idaho Driver’s License is required.
