    NV5 has a need for a Senior Mechanical Project Manager at its Irvine, CA location.

    • Project Management: Manage design and commissioning of projects, inception through completion and have primary responsibility for managing client expectations and ensuring that delivery meets expectations. Manage projects to meet client expectations for budget and schedule.
    • Design: Lead and contribute to engineering teams in the delivery of mechanical systems, design, energy, and consulting on complex projects.
    • Commissioning: Lead and contribute to engineering teams in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems. Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting mechanical systems on complex projects.
    • Support Business Development activities: (e.g., provide relevant input at prospective client meetings, assist in project cost and schedule estimating, etc.). Assist in business development and preparation of proposals. Develop and maintain client relationships. 
    • Participate in training and mentoring of staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
    • Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility. Minimum 10 years experience.
    • PE in California for discipline of practice or ability to obtain through comity or reciprocity.
    • Proven ability to design, coordinate and manage projects.
    • Proven ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
    • Proven ability to apply engineering fundamentals to design of systems.
    • Proven ability to oversee preparation of floor, site, and other discipline plans.
    • Proven ability to perform field review and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
    • AutoCAD, Revit and BIM knowledge preferred.
    • Advanced computer knowledge and skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with project team, both internal and external.
    • Proficiency using Newforma, Microsoft tools including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel and Deltek.
    • Ensure client relationship to maintain highest standard and exceed clients expectations through all phases; business development, proposals, design phases, construction, and post project follow up. 

    Qualifications

    • PE in California for discipline of practice or ability to obtain through comity or reciprocity.
