    The Senior Project Manager - Mechanical provides supervision for preparation of Mechanical (HVAC) and Plumbing system design drawings and specifications for new construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projects. Projects will be of high complexity. Responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to designs of systems. Able to work without immediate supervision and able to understand project scope and contract requirements.

     

    NV5 has a need for a Senior Project Manager - Mechanical at its Irvine, CA location.

    Responsibilities

    • Project Management: Manage design and commissioning of projects. inception through completion. Ensuring that delivery meets projects expectations for technical excellence, and schedule.
    • Design: Lead and contribute to engineering teams in the delivery of mechanical systems, design, energy, and consulting on complex projects.
    • Commissioning: Lead and contribute to engineering teams in diagnosing technical issues. Hands-on experience assembling and troubleshooting mechanical systems on complex projects.
    • Participate in training and mentoring of staff.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering-PE required, from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years project management and mechanical design engineering experience, systems design, and construction processes for complex buildings.
    • Able to work as part of a team, think creatively, and problem solve.
    • Demonstrated experience with project planning and writing/reviewing technical specifications and reports.
    • Extensive knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
    • Experience creating design documentation (e.g., theory of operation, 3D/2D CAD data, user manuals, etc.).
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
    • Experience with MS Office Suite
    • Working Knowledge of Trane Trace or eQUEST is considered a plus.
    • Certifications/Licenses:
      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
      • PE in California for discipline of practice or ability to obtain through comity or reciprocity.
