    NV5 has a need for a Senior Engineer to join the Structures Department in our Parsippany, NJ office.


    The Structures Department projects range from small culvert, retaining wall, local road bridges, and deck replacements to multi-span bridge structures on large-scale highway and interchange improvements. This position offers career development and growth opportunities by way of providing increasingly responsible tasks in all phases of design and project management.


    • Assist Project Manager and Senior Structural Designers (PE's) in the preparation of structural design plans and documents, including structural engineering calculations.
    • Support the preparation of technical reports to assist client with selection of structure type and configuration.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of structural analysis and behavior.
    • Conduct field visits to perform condition assessments and documentation of existing conditions.
    • Perform quantity calculations and assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates.
    • Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and NJDOT/NJTA Modifications a plus.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with emphasis on structural design.
    • Background/course work in technical drawing/detailing.
    • 4-10 years of experience (structural engineering)
    • Experience with MicroStation/AutoCADD.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office


    • PE Certification preferred
