NV5 is seeking a Project or Senior-level Geotechnical Engineer to join our fast growing geotechnical practice in San Diego, CA. In that position, you will provide project management, report writing, engineering analysis on a large variety of projects and help mentor our junior staff.


  • Perform and/or manage geotechnical engineering field investigations.
  • Perform Geotechnical analysis for foundations, retaining walls, slope, liquefaction. 
  • Develop geotechnical design recommendations and generate geotechnical reports.
  • Act as project manager on select geotechnical projects.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a registered, responsible charge project-level engineer (PE).
  • Excellent technical writing and engineering knowledge.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical engineering software.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong decision making skills, and the ability to work independently.



  • Registered Civil Engineer (PE) in the State of California.
  • Registered Geotechnical Engineer (GE) in the State of California is a plus.
