Provides supervision for preparation of system design drawings and specifications for new construction, existing facilities expansion, and renovation projects. Projects will be of high complexity. Responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to designs of systems. Has demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of discipline expertise internal to company and within the industry.


  • Communication with internal staff, clients, and other consultants/disciplines.
  • Obtains design data from documents, occupant interviews, and field measurements.
  • Coordinates and oversees preparation of floor plans, site plans, and other drawings for complex structures.
  • Responsible for specifications and contract documents.
  • Performs field review of existing facilities to determine and verify relevant services and site layout, and to coordinate construction with plans and specifications.
  • Responsible for overall system design, sizing and layout, selection of components for systems design.
  • Responsible for the overall telecommunications design package accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for preparation of cost estimates and in coordination of construction and renovation projects.
  • Responsible for discipline financial performance of project.
  • Prioritize workload for self and others to meet deadlines as scheduled.
  • Review drawings utilizing BlueBeam, AutoCAD, TruView, Revit and similar applications as well as printed documents, and provide feedback to designers and drafters via mark ups, red-lines, written/verbal explanations. 
  • Responsible for overseeing and assisting with the creation of standards for the technology department.
  • Mentor / train less experienced staff.
  • Conflict resolution with internal staff, clients, and other consultants/disciplines.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting presentations for internal and external customers using Power Point, videoconferencing or other similar methods



  • Engineering or technology degree or equivalent experience or a Bicsi RCDD certificate with least 10 years of design experience that is directly related to Information Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Proven ability to perform the duties specified with prior project experience at an equivalent level of responsibility. Minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • Bicsi RCDD credential holder with at least 10 years ICT design experience and practical installation experience preferred.


  • Ability to collect field data and accurately record findings.
  • Fundamental understanding of AutoCAD/Revit concepts.
  • Ability to perform field review and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications.
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to design accurately and thoroughly design and document ICT systems including the delivery and coordination of construction drawing packages.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Able to communicate with project team, both internal and external.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask between different assignments.
  • Ability navigate, organize and correctly file electronic documents in project folders utilizing a standard structured naming and filing system.
  • Ability to oversee preparation of floor, site and other discipline plans, and the ability to work with mentees to aid in their career growth.
  • Skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and project financial software.
  • Published article / paper in one or more areas of expertise in nationally recognized publication preferred.
