NV5 has a need for a Senior Engineer to join the Highway Department in our Parsippany, NJ office.
This is a position requiring an experienced technical individual for involvement on a wealth of interesting projects, from local road resurfacing to large-scale highway and interchange improvements. We seek a motivated candidate looking to work in a Team environment, capable of supervising entry and mid-level technical staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in the preparation of roadway/highway design calculations and plan development through the entire design lifecycle, from conceptual design layouts to final contract plans and documents. Typical tasks include horizontal and vertical layout, typical sections, profiles, grading, cross sections, and construction plan preparation.
  • Preparation of technical reports and studies.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
  • Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, maintenance and protection of traffic and construction staging plans, and utility coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • 10-plus years of experience (roadway/civil engineering)
  • Experience with Microstation InRoads


Certifications/Licenses:

  • NJ PE License is required
