NV5 has a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Manager for Water and Wastewater Services in Orange County and Los Angeles, CA The successful candidate will work alongside NV5’s Director of Water and will oversee major design and engineering projects, play an active role in the development of new opportunities and assist in the strategic development of our water and wastewater platform throughout California. The candidate will have specialized expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Water supply and treatment
  • Water transmission, distribution and storage
  • Pump Stations 
  • Wastewater conveyance
  • Wastewater treatment
  • Reclaimed water transmission, distribution and storage



  • Identify and develop new clients and project opportunities in Orange County and Los Angeles, CA.
  • Develop scope, schedule and budget for new business opportunities and project assignments.
  • Assist project managers and engineers in the delivery of water/wastewater projects including evaluation and detailed design of water and wastewater treatment plants, supply wells, water reuse systems, distribution systems, conveyance, storage, and pipeline projects.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent project delivery and execution (including subconsultants and support services design teams) on time, within budget and with expected level of quality.
  • Represent NV5 in local professional organizations.
  • Develop long term relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Make presentations to governing boards and city councils
  • Work with local and state regulatory agencies for project permitting, funding, etc.
  • Travel to project sites and client meetings, with occasional overnight stays required


  • BS degree in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering field; MS degree preferred. 
  • 15+ years of progressive experience with municipal water/wastewater utility engineering.
  • PE registration (California)
  • Proven business development skills.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and project management skills
  • Highly motivated with a passion for growing a water/wastewater service group.
