Responsibilities

Senior Engineer for Civil Engineering projects in Colorado with Water, Storm, Sanitary, and Transportation or land development background preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Working independently on projects in all phases from client contact to completion
  • Prepare project specifications and design drawings
  • Analyze existing and proposed infrastructure
  • Understand grading, drainage and erosion control, water and sanitary sewer distribution systems, storm sewer design and roadway design
  • Prepare opinions of probable cost
  • Solve problems on projects with minimal supervision, provide quality control, resolve technical issues
  • Coordinating internally with design and CAD technicians to ensure timely and accurate document and drawing preparation
  • Prepare proposals for project scope and fee
  • Client relationship management
  • Participate in Business Development (new business from existing clients)
  • Manage sub-consultants

Qualifications

 

  • Responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented professional, working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Follow and be responsive to project budgets and schedules; ability to identify departures from the project’s defined scope of work.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; Microsoft Office; and other standard industry software products
    Strong problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated design capabilities:
    • Site design, horizontal control, mass grading, detailed grading design experience
    • Domestic Water Systems modelling and design
    • Utilities design and storm drain system design skills
    • Drainage analysis
    • Hydraulics and Hydrology experience
    • Public improvements design skills, including coordination with grading, drainage, and utilities design, for site specific development or subdivision work
    • Roadway design, public and private
    • Interpretation of field survey data
  • Coordinate all design work with other team disciplines
  • Assist in proposal preparation via scope and fee development
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to design, manage plan production by staff, and assist in production of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Ability to work independently and productively under the supervision of and responsive to Group Director

Education:

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience

 

Certifications/Licenses:

  • PE Licensure in the State of Colorado
