Full-time position for a Field Biologist/GIS Technician (Albuquerque Office). Responsibilities include conducting biological surveys and wetland investigations and report writing (to state and federal agency standards); ability to use GIS equipment; participate in collecting, digitizing, analyzing, editing and entering GIS and GPS data; ability to work on numerous jobs concurrently and coordinate assigned projects; coordination with other departments on issues and constraints; and interact with regulatory agency personnel on a regular basis.  Must have experience in ESA compliance, botany and/or wildlife biology, and wetlands.  Must have at a minimum an entry level familiarity with GIS and ESRI products.    


This position requires extensive travel and physical ability to conduct biological surveys and wetland determinations and delineations.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in botany or wildlife biology, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.  A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of biological field experience in the southwest.
  • Minimum of one year of GIS experience, specifically with data sets relating to biological and cultural resources.
  • Experience creating project maps related to cultural or natural resources reporting preferred
