The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise within one or more areas of expertise as it relates to field of engineering.  Provides guidance to discipline staff on engineering approach and design philosophy.  Serves as a recognized expert in discipline for company and recognized as expert within industry.   

Responsibilities

  • Provides engineering design and technical expertise on project related work with minimal supervision. Able to coordinate design documents for multiple projects at one time. 
  • Provides guidance on technical design to project staff and supervises work product related to discipline.
  • Prepares basis of design and concept design for project related work. Requires minimal supervision with developing concepts for project design.
  • Works with discipline staff to mentor and train engineering concepts and design requirements.
  • Effective communication with Clients, staff, authorities and related external design team members.
  • Is able to communicate with new and existing clients to convert opportunities into contracts
  • Provides design review for projects not actively engaged in for quality control purposes. Seeks out opportunities to review design of others without having to be requested.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical papers, documents, specifications and design reports.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering and construction documents and construction process to develop design documents.
  • Understand basic financial information and KPi’s used to make business decision and monitor project performance.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise to prospective clients as part of qualifications process or project interviews.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with Clients, external and internal design team members, as well as reviewing authorities.
  • Able to coordinate and work with sub-consultants, external and internal design team members.
  • Has technical expertise in one or more areas of discipline and is able to effectively demonstrate expertise.
  • Able to understand project documents, specifications, drawings and design reports.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic understanding of technical requirements for all disciplines, even though trained in one specific area.
  • Understands project workflow for scheduling and permitting process.
  • Capable of mentoring and training discipline staff on expertise areas

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from and accredited university.
  • California Electrical PE license required
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • MBA, LEED and/or PMP preferred, but not required.
