RDK, An NV5 Company, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer for its Andover, MA office.

The successful candidate will develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates on a number of concurrent projects and provide technical guidance and direction to engineers. Ideal candidates will have 15+ years of experience and a PE license.


  • Responsible for assisting Electrical Engineers with project planning, managing schedules and budgets to complete work on time and profitably; plays major role in conceptualizing design of the project. 
  • Expertise in Lighting, Power distribution, Fire Alarm, Emergency generators, grounding, lightning protection, etc. in manufacturing plants, industrial complexes, animal facilities and lab buildings is essential. 
  • Reviews individual project workloads, deadlines, budgets, and requirements with the responsible electrical engineers; quality control review of responsible electrical engineer’s design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
  • Applies organizational and management expertise to unique and complex projects and is able to effectively diagnose problems, prepare course of action, and implement the course of action to provide an appropriate solution or resolution of the problem. 
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts by developing project approach, scope of services and budgets based on similar project experience and historical budgeting information; and by speaking at client interviews regarding project management issues. 
  • Participates in the Construction Administration process including resolving field problems occurring during construction. 
  • Maintains an accurate assessment of project status through effective communications with the RDK Electrical staff, team leaders and Principals. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.


  • BSEE Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering curriculum. 
  • Must have 10+ years’ experience in the consulting engineering field including developing plans and specifications for a variety of facility types. 
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of electrical design. 
  • Must have expertise in electrical power distribution, lighting, security and fire detection as well as experience in construction document preparation, construction cost estimating, and project management. 
  • Demonstrated project experience in life science, pharmaceuticals, lab buildings, vivariums, r&d facilities, manufacturing, and process design. 
  • Project management experience. 
  • Experience directing and mentoring staff. 
  • Proven Client Relations skills. 
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD MEP and Revit. 
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • NCEES Registration preferred
