We are looking for a Structures Engineering Manager for our New York/New Jersey Metropolitan Area.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a design group, including day to day operations.
  • Manage budgets, including labor, expense and project budgets.
  • Deliver on group short-term and mid-term business objectives
  • Develop critical mass of the group (people, process and tools) to meet office and/or regional needs.
  • To include business development, workload planning, recruiting and talent pool development, and project management.
  • Proposal development and writing
  • Selling, networking to maintain and enhance the company’s local public image and reputation as engineer of choice.
  • Provide leadership to the group.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, training and support to junior engineering staff
  • Performs as project manager in project delivery including task management and planning, scheduling, coordination of detailed phases of the engineering work

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Current New York, New Jersey PE
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in general structural with a focus on bridge design, ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria.  
  • Project management experience working on complex projects with multi-discipline staff. 
  • Ability to manage teams effectively under budget and schedule constraints
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
