NV5 has a need for an Assistant Engineer, Highways (Entry Level) at its Parsippany, NJ location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Designers (PE’s) in the preparation of roadway/highway design calculations and plan development through the entire design lifecycle, from conceptual design layouts to final contract plans and documents. Typical tasks include horizontal and vertical layout, typical sections, profiles, grading, cross sections, and construction plan preparation.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports and studies.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
  • Assist in quantity calculations, cost estimates, maintenance and protection of traffic and construction staging plans, and utility coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
  • 0-2 years of experience (roadway/civil engineering)
  • Experience with Microstation/AutoCADD

 

Training/Licenses:

  • EIT Certification is preferred
