Overview

We're seeking an Associate Engineer with 5+ years of civil engineering experience in general infrastructure, transportation, street improvements, storm drainage, grading, and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing project plans, specifications, and cost estimates, along with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful public infrastructure projects in a collaborative team environment while supporting Project Managers through all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities

The tasks listed are a representation and not an all-inclusive list of essential job tasks for this position.

  • Design General Infrastructure, Streets, and Storm Drainage Improvements.
  • Applies the standards of the City/County and utilizes AutoCAD/Civil 3D to prepare plans and profiles for street improvement projects.
  • Designs and prepares signing and striping plans.
  • Prepares a variety of exhibits, including composite utility exhibits, etc.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare rough grading, precise grading, and drainage plans.
  • Prepares WQMP/SWPPP for project sites. In addition, prepare BMP maps for project sites and perform BMP design calculations.
  • Prepare project cost estimates. Calculate project construction quantities and research their unit cost.
  • Prepare project specifications, including technical provisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • EIT is a plus, or working toward CA PE is highly desired
  • A minimum of  3+ years of progressive civil engineering design experience, preferably in roadway, grading, and drainage improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D 
  • Familiarity with stormwater management design, grading, and utility layout.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license required

 

The pay range for this California position is $95,000- $125,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
