Overview

The Senior Advisor provides strategic information and consultation to NV5 Geospatial’s (NV5G) executive leadership and Senior Federal/Civilian and State/Regional Sales Teamsincreasing awareness and advancing NV5's products and services to federalstate, tribal and non-government clients. The Senior Advisor helps shape organizational strategy through deep market insight, client intelligence, and forward-looking analysis. This role partners with executive leadership and account teams to identify growth opportunities, anticipate client needs, and guide strategic decision-making that enhances client value and competitive positioning. 

 

This is a part-time position offering flexible work arrangements, including the option to work from an NV5 regional office or remotely. Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

Strategic Direction/Guidance 

  • Provide thought leadership to senior executives on long-term strategy, market positioning, and growth priorities
  • Support development of enterprise and business unit strategies, including annual planning and multi-year roadmaps
  • Identify risks and opportunities that could impact organizational performance 

Client Intelligence & Insights 

  • Collect, synthesize, and analyze client data, including feedback, behavior trends, and engagement patterns
  • Develop comprehensive client intelligence frameworks to inform account strategies and decision-making
  • Document insights on client needs, buying drivers, satisfaction trends, and retention risks 
  • Partner with account teams to strengthen client relationships through insight-driven engagement 

Legislative Support 

  • Participate in corporate legislative affairs and discussions with legislative partners
  • Develop materials for legislative visits
  • Attend and/or participate remotely in federal briefings (within ethical guidelines) 
  • Follow-up with evaluation with members on what helped, what could be further improved 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise between sales, product development, and delivery teams to ensure client expectations are met
  • Support post-sales implementation and ensure smooth handoff to delivery teams

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred 
  • 20+ years of experience in leadership, strategy, consulting, client advisory, or business analysis roles 
  • Proven experience influencing senior executives and driving strategic outcomes 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex data 
  • Experience in client insights, market intelligence, or customer strategy preferred 
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-paced environments 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Direct experience working with the Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) 
  • Direct experience working with State government agencies 
  • Direct experience working with non-government organization (NGOs)
