ICC Field Inspector - San Bernardino County - Baker, CA

We are seeking a qualified ICC Inspector to provide inspection services for the development of large solar energy generation and storage project.

 

The inspector will provide full-time on-site inspection throughout construction activities. In this role the inspector shall be responsible for the inspection of constructed facilities and verify compliance with approved construction documents.

 

The successful candidate will provide accurate and consistent reporting, attend meetings with contractor and project owner staff, and work closely with NV5’s project team. The inspector will verify that special inspections are being performed in accordance with the approved special inspection and testing agreement. 

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections to verify construction is completed in adherence with approved codes, laws ordinances, regulations and standards.
  • Verify that construction complies with approved construction documents.
  • Read, research, and objectively interpret code requirements.
  • Maintain clear, concise and comprehensive records related to inspection activities.
  • Review complex engineering documents to ensure construction compliance.
  • Interface with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients through participation in project meetings and daily site interaction.
  • Issue necessary correction notice and non-conformance reports as applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience providing inspections for energy generation, transmission or heavy industrial projects.
  • Certification from a recognized state, national or international organization as a building (life/safety), electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing inspector.
  • Verifiable experience as an inspector on high voltage power generating and/or complex industrial facilities in California.
  • ICC certified Combination Inspector experienced with California adopted codes preferred.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft office software.

The pay range for this position is $65-80 per hour. However, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related skills, and experience of the candidate.
