Overview

NV5 Geospatial is actively recruiting a Cybersecurity Administrator. Strong capabilities in implementing and managing security controls, risk assessments, and compliance measures across GovCloud-hosted environments including Azure and AWS are required. The Cybersecurity Administrator will be based at US Army Garrison Miami/US Southern Command. US citizenship, along with the ability to successfully pass a basic background check for access to US military bases, is required for employment. The successful candidate will have an active TS/SCI clearance. 

 

Work Setting:

  • Onsite - US Army Garrison – Miami / SOUTHCOM HQ
  • Potential travel up to 5-15% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity mandates, including NIST 800-53 Rev.5, FedRAMP, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and DoD IL4/IL5 security policies.
  • Implement security monitoring solutions, conduct vulnerability assessments, and enforce zero-trust security principles.
  • Maintain system security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Security Assessment Reports (SAR), and Plans for Actions & Milestones (POA&M), ensuring continuous compliance and audit readiness.
  • Lead and track the progress of Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, ensuring all security controls and risk assessments are documented and submitted for approval. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in cybersecurity operations. 
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and enforcing security controls for cloud infrastructure and ensuring compliance with DoD security frameworks. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing security configurations, conducting penetration testing, and implementing SIEM solutions (e.g. Microsoft Sentinel, AWS Security Hub). 
  • Demonstrated experience performing risk assessments, continuous security monitoring, and developing mitigation strategies in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Demonstrated experience administering RBAC and enforcing least-privilege access policies for mission-critical applications. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing the ATO lifecycle, including preparation of the SSP, SAR, and POA&M.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with DoD cybersecurity officials to achieve and sustain ATOs for cloud-based and on-premises environments.
  • Proficient in NIST 800-53 Rev.5, FedRAMP, DoD RMF, IL4/IL5 security mandates, and STIGs.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex project tasks. 

Preferred: 

  • Portuguese or Spanish language skills.
  • Experience with government IT programs and environments. 

Clearance Requirement: 

  • Active TS/SCI
